Supervisor of Elections: We’re on track for recrod turnout!
Jerry Holland says if the pace keeps up, we could see 80 to 90 percent of registered voters cast their ballot in this election. So far, very minor issues and the lines are not as long as anticipated. The technical issues have been with the optical scanners and the problem machines were replaced right away. When the votes come in, it will take just an hour before we start hearing about returns.
More to come….

The write-in vote
We’re here at headquarters where they get scoop from the precincts, good and bad. We’re hearing some official and entertaining news!!! There are some interesting “write-in” candidates already. Jesus Christ, Jay Plotkin, 3 Hillary’s and as always… Mickey Mouse.
Gateway Mall Update
About 45 people in line waiting to vote or turn in their absentee ballots.
The Polls are Open
I just interviewed Jerry Holland and he’s ready for a busy day! He says that early voting really helped prepare them for today but they still worry they may encounter some issues. They use different machines for early voting so while the number of people that headed to the polls early helped prepare them for todayn there’s still a chance they will encounter technical problems. More to come from election central throughout the day.

We’re Here!!!!
It’s 4:52am on election day and I’m the first person at the Supervisor of Elections office. The polls don’t open until 7am so we don’t expect employees until 6am. It’s suggested that if you haven’t voted early… Try and get to the polls between 9am and 4pm today. I will keep you updated on any problems throughout the morning.

We start early tomorrow
After a busy, busy day of covering last minute campaign stops in Jacksonville, I’m really anxious to cover the elections. I’m assigned to keep an eye on the Supervisor of Elections office for the first part of the day. It will be really interesting to see if things run smoothly and just what kind of an impact early voting will have on the anticipated long lines. I will be keeping you posted right here once the polls open!
