Early Voting Lines and Absentee Ballots
Still long lines this morning downtown as people take advantage of early voting. Supervisor Jerry Holland says best time is maybe late afternoon.
Also did some checking on Absentee ballots. 32 thouand have been returned.. and there are 1587 that are in question…. Either signatures do not match or not signed at all. They will have to be checked by the elections canvassing board starting on Wednesday.
Also 1600 new voters who registered around the last day.. have had problems with applications.. they will not be allowed to vote… Before you vote it might be smart to check your regestration status on line with the supervsiors office… you can link to that from NEWS4JAX.COM

I just tried to vote at Southside Branch – after standing in line for half an hour, a worker came out to tells us it they were down to a single printer and it could take another hour. I couldn’t wait that long today; will have to go back tomorrow.
Hard to believe they can’t have enough printers or have pre-printed ballots.
